More than 80 victims, who were defrauded in a similar way to Mr. A through domestic chat apps, are preparing for a class-action lawsuit. Attorney Choi Ji-hyun of Song & Choi Law Firm, representing the lawsuit, stated, 'In the past, romance scams primarily targeted Koreans by foreigners, but recently, there has been an increase in cases where Koreans defraud fellow Koreans.' She added, 'Many romance scams using currency exchange fraud methods through similar sites have been reported, prompting requests to law enforcement agencies for case consolidation.'
